Frequently Asked Questions

What makes these artist tools "sustainable"?

Our tools are part of a circular economy. The Sustainable Canvas Painting Pots are crafted from 100% recycled milk bottle lids, while our Sustainable Canvas Painting Palettes are made in Sydney from recycled Australian industrial waste. By repurposing High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), we keep plastic out of landfills and the environment and give it a second life in your studio.

How do I clean my palette and pot?

Cleaning is incredibly simple thanks to the low-friction surface of HDPE:

  • For Dried Paint: One of the most satisfying parts of using these tools is that dried paint simply peels right off in one big piece.
  • For Wet Paint: Simply wipe the surface with a damp cloth or wash with mild soap and warm water.

Are these tools durable?

  • Yes! HDPE is famous for its impact resistance and durability.
Unlike brittle plastic or wooden palettes that can crack or warp over time, these tools are built to withstand heavy use and won't absorb moisture, preventing mold and rot.

Are these tools safe for all types of paint?

Absolutely. HDPE is resistant to most chemical solvents, making it safe for use with acrylics, oils, watercolors & alocohol inks. It is also non-leaching and non-toxic, ensuring it won't react with your pigments.
